Upper Church Barn Reviews

We had a wonderful week staying in Upper Church Barn. It's spacious, clean and comfortable with lots of stylish touches that made it so much more interesting than your typically holiday rental. We loved waking up every morning to the amazing views from the decking. Llanmadoc is a lovely village in a great location for exploring some of the quieter areas of the Gower, whilst also being easy driving distance to the more touristy beaches and villages. We really enjoyed walking 10 mins from the barn to the nature reserve and on to Whiteford Sands, which even in the height of summer, was practically deserted. The local pub is also fantastic - really impressed with the quality of the food and a great garden for the kids. All in all a wonderful holiday and we're already planning our next stay!

Brilliant location, only a short walk or drive to some glorious beaches. It is just as the pictures shows and a really easy check-in! Would definitely come back.

Gorgeous location inside & out, it was perfect for a tranquil weekend away. From inside the barn we could barely hear anything outside and felt like we were miles from anyone else (in a good way!). A very comfy & cosy place to spend a few days and we're hoping to return in the future. The local pub does lovely food with a friendly atmosphere and the village community run shop does tasty cakes & local produce so both are worth a visit.

Wonderful home away from home! Fantastic host with excellent communication and all information was timely, accurate, and comprehensive. We spent 5 days here (4 adults, our 3 year old and our 4 month old) and loved it - close to our favourite pub/restaurant the Britannia, and gorgeous beaches. Perfect for family fun - even when it rained thanks to the dvds and games (and toys to keep the littl'uns busy!) Would highly recommend, and definitely going back.

Great location, beautiful landscapes and views! Secluded but still near the local shop and restaurants if needed! The beach is just a short stroll down the hill. The house is lovely and has everything you need! Perfect for 7 guests!

Just back from a wonderful long weekend at Upper Church Barn. We absolutely loved the space. It was super clean, spacious and cosy and very comfortable. The thoughtful touches made our trip extra special - beautiful toys, a great DVD/book collection and lots of useful maps and local info. The barn suited us perfectly as a family of five with three small kids and a dog. We loved exploring the stunning beaches and surrounding area and very much hope to return.

I went on a work retreat with some colleagues and found Louise's place perfect, very peaceful and absolutely cosy and warm despite the cold, wet and blustery weather. We made full use of the useful fire-place. The place has a definite charm and is unbeatable for location with access to lovely walks and local tea-room/cafe with all the basics as well as a large assortment of home-made goodies, and charming style with tea and scones available. The church opposite is a real treasure with it's long history. Well kitted-out kitchen and easy-to-use recycling system. We will definitely return for future work retreats.
