The Hollies Reviews

We stayed with our children during easter weekend in Horton. Everything was exactly as described in the ad. The house, the location and the owner are just absolutely great! Many thanks to Neil! Stephen and Sarah

Had a lovely time with my family beautiful apartment very clean and fresh. Great view of the sea from my window. Thank you again

Myself and my family have been coming to the Hollies now for almost 10 years. My two daughters are now grown up but still come on the holiday to Horton every year as we have such a lovely time whilst here. The best thing about the Hollies (although there are many great points) is the location. If you love the beach like we do then this is perfect. We turn up every year with all our beach toys, kayaks, surf boards etc and,as the garden is literally next to the beach there is no distance to carry them. The Gower itself is quite simply beautiful and as a family we have explored the entire coastline extensively many times. The Hollies is an ideal place to stay if you like walking as there are beautiful walks in every direction from here. Neil ( the owner ) is a lovely guy and always greets us warmly when we arrive. We have stayed in both apartments and make full use of the balconies which have lovely views over the beach and across the Bristol channel to Devon. Incidentally the top balcony in particular is ideal for a bit of stargazing at night as there is very low light pollution here. Many an evening after a nice meal in the nearby King Arthur we have sat out and gazed at the millions of stars lighting up the sky. The accommodation is clean, and spacious with comfortable beds and is equipped with everything you will need. We have stayed in other properties on the Gower but this is our favourite because the location and proximity to the beach just cannot be beaten. As I said at the beginning we have visited many, many times and will continue to do so as for us it is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

This is the third year running we have holidayed at the Hollies. Fantastic location (right next to the beach) Flat is always immaculately clean on arrival and the owner is there to welcome you, nothing is to much trouble for Neil the kitchen is well equipped, fridge freezer and washing machine, amazing value for money. Private parking, dog friendly, lovely big, safe garden for the grandchildren to play in. Would recommend this property to friends and family. Will be going back next year, This year went on a boat trip from Oxwich Bay and saw 2pods of Dolphins ( with young) and also purpoises. The whole area is wonderful. Try Sunday lunch at the Oxwich Bay Hotel.

This is the eighth year we have spent a holiday at the Hollies. The fact that we keep going back is an indication of how much we enjoy the ambiance and situation which is second to none ( the beech is only about 100metres away)..Accommodation and facilities meets the needs of our family of several generations. The owner is always friendly and helpful..With a wonderful beach and plenty of good walks and easy access to Swansea, restaurants and other beaches in Gower one can ask for little else.

After an intensive internet search I can assure you that you can not beat this property for location and price! We absolutely love Gower and found that quiet & pretty Horton is a brilliant spot for a relaxing holiday. The house is right next to Horton beach and having now stayed at both Horton & Port Eynon we preferred Horton. The apartments were however only a 10minute walk along the coast to Port Eynon and we made use of the good pubs and restaurants here on several occasions. Neil, who is the kind and charming owner looks after his home and apartments very well. He rents out two 3 bedroom flats on the 1st and 2nd floor. We rented the top floor which we loved although the floor below was almost identical. The rooms were spotlessly clean on our arrival. The views from the rooms and the balcony were stunning, better than in the photos! We stayed with three young children and were made to feel immediately at ease, we could use the garden at any time. There was plenty of space for all of us. Don't expect the latest fixture & fittings but everything was comfortable and homely and for the price and location these apartments are fantastic. Neil is delightful as are the apartments and we would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family. Thank you Neil and we hope to come again soon!

Our 8th year at the Hollies flats , this year a grown ups walking week in May and a family beach week in July . Neil is a most welcoming host, always helpful , providing a very happy and relaxed holiday atmosphere, allowing his guests to share his very large, safe garden - the kids love it and its only a stone's throw from the beach . The flats are spacious, clean and bright and provide all you need , 2 bathrooms being a real bonus. the sea views from the flats are spectacular, with the balcony being another bonus - and you can hear the waves from your bed at night which we love . We are outdoor people , just love Gower and these flats are just perfect for us. We love the position close to the beach , the views , the spacious garden , the cosy, relaxed feel of the flats to retreat to and cook after a healthy day out . A great place for a holiday - we ll be back again soon !

The Hollies is ideally situated right next to a lovely family friendly beach. Very spacious, light and airy property, comfortably furnished and with gorgeous views over Port Eynon beach. A choice of good places to eat within easy walking distance was a real bonus too! The property was lovelyand clean and set in a well-maintained garden with plenty of parking. Neil and his family were very welcoming and helpful. I would happily recommend this property to anyone looking for a beach holiday. Our teenagers enjoyed the space (&the WiFi!) and it would be ideal for younger children too.

Lovely place to stay, right by the beach, very comfortable and roomy. View from lounge window was lovely. Beds were very comfortable. Can highly recommend this property for a family beach holiday
