Swansea Museum, which is a Grade II listed building, is the oldest in Wales being built in 1841 for the Royal Institution of South Wales which had a focus upon arts and sciences.

Currently it provides a depth of understanding for the past, present and future.

There are important archaeological collections and very fine ceramics collections not to mention the Egyptian Mummy – Hun.

A special section features the First World War with a further area covering local history and regular special exhibitions are held.

Provision is made for young children in the form of a play area.
