The Old Vicarage is prominently situated on a hill overlooking the wonderful Gower countryside. Quiet and peaceful yet within minutes of Gower’s world class beaches and just 15 minutes from Mumbles village, famous for its restaurants, bars and shops.

The Old Vicarage was completed in 1901 and has been completely refurbished to offer a full range of modern amenities within a beautifully decorated country house that will provide you with a lifetime of memories.

The house is perfect for families, extended families, groups of friends & wedding guests looking to enjoy first class accommodation. The library and east sitting room offers sanctuary to guests wishing to relax quietly in front of a roaring fire, whilst the family room and conservatory off the kitchen is the hub of the house. The heart of the house is undoubtedly the enormous family kitchen. The large oak central island allows guests to sit in the heart of the kitchen next to the range cooker. The conservatory, off the kitchen, houses a solid oak table with seating for 12 or more and a wood burning stove.

The renowned King Arthur country pub, serving excellent food & drink in a traditional country pub environment, is a stroll away.

Gower provides the opportunity for golf, water sports, horse riding, hiking, cycling or just relaxing and enjoying some of Europe’s favourite beaches.

The Old Vicarage Reviews

I loved this house; its space and light and its atmosphere.
The house is large with lots of space and light. It has a great atmosphere and it is easy to see how it would work as a vicarage. There are large comfy sofas with lots of cushions and blankets for curling up into after a day exploring the many beaches in the area. There are three public rooms, enough for everyone, from kids to grandparents to relax and enjoy tv, books or games. Dining together in a large group, as we were, was lovely in the spacious kitchen/dining/conservatory. It is a home from home and the owners, Mike and Alison, are very friendly and helpful. Do follow Mike's directions rather than relying on SatNav, unless you want an adventurous last few miles holding your breath round blind corners on tiny single lane tracks, and trying to avoid sheep, cows and horses running across the road, however tempting the thought of Welsh lamb for Sunday lunch might be. A very enjoyable experience with extended family in a beautiful part of Wales with very friendly people. We loved it.

An idyllic location
A breathtaking location, the grounds are truly amazing and the house is beautiful! Mike & Allison (the owners) were extremely helpful and informative, it was like home from home. Full of character, and perfect for a 30th birthday friends and family celebration with young children - couldn't have picked a better place. Thank you SO much! Will definitely be returning.

Stunning and Amazing Location
This has to be one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed in the Gower area. Such a grand property and amazing location for walks. It’s a handy place being half way to either Llangennith and Rhossili and only a short distance to the beautiful setting of Reynoldston. I visit the Gower a lot since I used to go to Uni in Swansea and could recommend this to everyone! Perfect for a family reunion as it was for us!!

Delightful house with loads of character and charm.
We spent a weekend here for my mother’s 80th Birthday with the family who travelled far and wide. We had a great weekend centred around food, beaches and chose the property for the big kitchen and conservatory area - in which we spend most of our time. The house itself was very grand with large entrance hall, staircase and landing. Bags of character throughout this amazing old vicarage. The large garden provides plenty of room to run children around if they don't get enough exercise on the beach (and dogs). We have stayed in lots of large properties over the years with our friends 'Fake Christmas' and this place was right up there. Shame it was 3 bedrooms short of fitting the bill for us and our friends. If you’re expecting a 5 star hotel, this is not that… it’s a big property rental!.... but if you want a big home to hang out in with friends and family, scoff food and drive 10 minutes to an awesome beach, it's perfect!

Amazing Place
Hi, we stayed here as a group of friends over the weekend and it was the most amazing house with plenty of space and close to some of the best beaches in the UK. The weather was fabulous and highly recommend for a group. It has everything you need and more.

Beautiful, spacious, cosy - wish we could have stayed longer!
The Old Vicarage was a true gem of a house. We booked it for one weekend as a large group of 15; the house was perfectly sized and easily fitted us all! The Gower Peninsula was a beautiful setting, and the Old Vicarage made this an even more wonderful weekend stay. We all wished we could have stayed longer. Alison was extremely helpful with the booking and logistics in advance of our arrival. On arrival, we found the house warm, lit-up and ready for a wonderful weekend. There are several stoves throughout the property for a proper log fire, lots of sofas and places to relax. The kitchen/dining area is possibly the highlight of the house - plenty of space for cooking and feasting. We loved the high ceilings, quality furniture and plenty of crockery, cooking equipment and other utilities. Thank you Alison and we will certainly be back to show our families what a wonderful place this is! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a house for family, friends or holiday stays.
