‘The Wedge’ is located at Mewslade Cottage in Middleton, Rhossili right on the end of the Gower Peninsular. Offering a quiet and self-contained en-suite bedroom on the ground floor with separate access from the main house so that you can come and go as you please. The room has a TV, WiFi, facilities for breakfast with a place to sit outside and enjoy the garden and relax. It has parking and immediate access to the footpath to Mewslade Bay which is one of Gower’s most beautiful beaches.

The Wedge is part of Mewslade Cottage, an original Gower cottage but it has seen many changes over the decades. We have made it habitable with a a lot of time and effort, using wood off the beach and reclaimed furniture, fixings and fittings. The result is a unique space that we feel sure you will enjoy. The Wedge is on the ground floor with its own access so that you can come and go as you please, with a table and chairs outside where you can enjoy breakfast in the garden. (and rugs should you need them when it’s cooler). Wooden floor and wood panel cupboards that house clothes hanging space as well as a fridge for your use, kettle and toaster. The room has an internet TV and WiFi and an en-suite shower room with toilet and basin. I can provide you with continental breakfast should you require it.

We are active people who love where we live, making the most of what the beautiful Gower has to offer; surf, cycling, walking, running and fishing being a few activities. We have a good knowledge of the area and will be more than happy to share our local insights to advise you on how to spend your time during your stay. We will be available should you need anything, but will also appreciate that many will want privacy. Anna is fluent in French and Italian.

Rhossili is often referred to the Jewel in the Crown of the Swansea area, boasting the first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Most of the cliff land, hills and moors are managed by the National Trust and the area boasts some of the best beaches in the world along with estuaries, marshes, ring forts, castles, caves. The peninsula is famous for its wildlife, water sports opportunities, its beautiful vistas and its plethora of activities. The Wedge is 35 minutes from Swansea and a mile from Rhossili beach but there are better, less busy ones, closer to hand that can be reached on foot. There are pubs and good places to eat on the Gower as well as great cafes and award winning bakeries.

There is a regular bus service to Swansea which is on the end of the main line from Paddington, London.

We also offer self-catering sleeping up to four people at ‘The Store‘.

The Wedge Reviews

Anna made us feel very welcome and was very friendly throughout our stay. Communication beforehand was very prompt and clear. The situation of the property is great, right next to the footpaths down to the lovely beaches, into Rhossili or up onto the downs, so there was no need to use our car at all. The Wedge is a lovely conversion and the continental breakfast was good too. Plenty of eating places in Rhossili for the evenings.

We had such a lovely time at Anna's place, her and Jem have thoughtfully created a delightfully cozy and clean hideaway with great shower and outdoor area. Just down little lane is great beach for swimming and messing about in the waves - the location is absolutely stunning, and the Welsh cakes on arrival were a nice touch. Anna was really helpful and told us some of the secret beaches and quite picturesque walks. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

One of the best Airbnbs my girlfriend and I have stayed in. Anna had thought of everything - delicious coffee, fresh and healthy breakfast items and Welsh cakes for the morning. The room is a spacious and separate en suite with breakfast facilities and an outdoor table. Near the beautiful Worms Head beach and pub. Anna was very helpful and excellent at communicating. Would have stayed longer and would definitely return!

5* - highly recommend! Anna was the most wonderful host, friendly and helpful with absolutely everything. The accommodation was fantastic and the location is just perfect, literally round the corner from Rhosilli beach which we visited each day. Jem even rented us (cheaply) surfboards and wetsuits! Highly recommend!!

Anna’s place is a real hidden treasure. There is everything you need in the room and the whole place is full of interesting and cleverly designed touches. There is plenty of space for a short stay and a nice area to sit outside looking over a lovely flowers filled garden. Anna provided a selection of cereals, homemade jam and marmalade and a different selection of fresh fruit everyday. I asked for sour dough bread which she happily provided. The house is 15mins walk down a lovely footpath with lots of interesting flowers and birds to a gem of a beach with caves and plenty of rocks to explore. The sea was so clear and very safe for families. We spent most of our time in Rhossili as you can walk out to the worms head at low tide and we saw lots of seals and the bistro beach cage food was to die for. All in all a magical trip
