The National Waterfront Museum tells the story of industry and innovation in Wales, now and over the last 300 years.

Using a mix of interactive technology and real objects, the Museum shows Wales at work from the Industrial Revolution onward. The story of how Wales changed from a rural society to one of the most advanced in the world at the time, introducing innovative processes which drove massive change, is not to be missed.

Located in Swansea city’s delightful maritime quarter, the Museum building – itself a mixture of the old and the new – has 15 themed galleries, each telling a different story of this crucial period in Welsh history.

The Museum also has a full programme of exciting free events and exhibitions for all ages. Free crafts for children, free classic films, eye-opening science workshops, free play days and our seasonal themed trails mean there’s something for everyone. Check out our event programme at museum.wales.

The Museum also has a range of interesting gifts in its shop and the Waterfront Café, serving a selection of delicious goodies throughout the day.
