Pobbles Bay is another popular but more secluded beach. Surrounded by limestone cliffs and sand dunes you can see right to the end of Oxwich Bay on a clear day.

Who wouldn’t love Pobbles? When the tide’s in, it’s a lovely sandy cove. When the tide’s out, you can walk the full expanse down to Oxwich Point. Great for a picnic, or to give your dog that endless run on the beach!⠀

Facilities include:

  • nearest car park in Southgate (National Trust owned)
  • nearest toilets in Southgate
  • coffee shop and pubs also in Southgate

The public toilets are situated next to Pennard Stores and coffee shop in Southgate and you will find a car park, owned by the National Trust in the immediate vicinity. However expect a reasonable walk of about 20 mins down to Pobbles from there, alongside Pennard Golf Course.

The alternative is to park in Parkmill and walk through the valley, out into Pennard Burrows and past Three Cliff. However, you would not be able to do this if the tide is in.

From Pobbles paths lead North through the dunes to Pennard Burrows and East over the cliffs to Hunts Bay and Pwlldu. If the tide is out, then you will be able to walk East on the beach to Three Cliff and Tor Bay.
